Metro

Metro

Metro was constructed in clay and arose from overlapping sketches of commuters, posters and train interiors in the London Underground in the 1990s.

The central face was a fellow male commuter, to the right a square-jawed action hero from an American movie poster, to the far left a sleeping young woman and also a theatrical mask drawn from a Covent Garden poster. The piece was first cast in bronze and mounted on marble in 2009.
